POET

Kaïa Kater is a Grenadian-Canadian musician and poet. She studied Appalachian music in West Virginia.

Kaïa won a Canadian Screen Award, was nominated for a Juno Award, and was longlisted for a Polaris Prize. She has earned recognition from CBC, BBC Music, and Rolling Stone, and she performed at SXSW 2023.

Kaia is a force and we’re proud that she is the lyrical guide and narrator for O Pioneer. The film features one of Kaïa’s songs, Poets Be Buried, which she performs on screen.
